Gifting The NPC's it's just an easy way to do.Items used to befriend NPCs can be found in dungeons and can also be given by the Silver and Gold Dimensional Rabbits from Abyss Mode dungeons.

A relationship system in Dragon Nest, the Friendship system can be used to obtain discounts from certain NPCs.

GOLDEN GOOSE

A merchant's guild composed of members from the continent of Altera. It was created to maximize profits for all of its members by creating a network of unified businesses from various areas.
Members of this guild must all provide the same services, allowing customers to access the same goods at any of their locations.
The guild's main goal is to increase their own profits by providing reliable and uniform services across the continent.

FREE ADVENTURER LEAGUE
This guild was established to support adventurers across the continent of Altera.

To be able to befriend an NPC, you must first meet certain criteria, listed in the Friendship interface. For example, you may have to finish a quest, have an achievement, or reach a certain level.
In order to increase Fondness points with an NPC, you may either give them gifts or talk to them, as they will occasionally give you a dialogue with choices that you may select. Be warned, however, as if you chose the wrong option, the NPC may gain aversion points, while if you choose a good option, the NPC will gain fondness.
