Elestra Level 70 Skill Build

The Level 60 build is pretty much the same as Saurus' which is why I didn't really see any reason to post my build. From my experience as an Elestra though (and numbers...), I believe that for 70 cap, dropping Ice Shield and Chilling Mist EX is still the way to go.

Double Shields is just a waste of SP, so is Chilling Mist's DPS compared to the SP invested. When it comes to my ice stacking experience, the usual preferred flow is

- Frost Wind -> Glacial Freeze -> Ice Sphere (No real reason to level up Frost Wind for this scenario)

- FF EX more for the freeze than the debuff, in combination with Blizzard, when the situation calls for 2x layers. (And my preferred combo is not available)

I group the ice stacking skills this way due to range and casting time. Frost Wind, Glacial Freeze and Ice Sphere are all most effective at melee range. FF EX and Blizzard have the luxury of being able to ice stack just the same from a further distance.

I have often gotten the questions regarding ice stacking in DDN. To be frank, when DDN's 50% elemental resistance was first announced, I too was worried and racking my brains on figuring out how to ice stack properly in DDN. In the end, my experience is that these are just pointless concerns.

Firstly, let me address that FF EX's debuff/other -ele % resistance is indeed useful for lengthening freeze duration. The question we should be asking is if it is necessary (in DDN). I can't even begin to recall how often I started with FF EX's debuff, and DIDN'T have the chance to stack 2 layers before my party already threw all their main DPS skills. FF EX's casting time just takes too long. My perspective changed - it's not about how long the ice is up, it's how many layers you can stack when the party needs it. (i.e., the point where they spam their DPS skills)

Is it impossible to read the boss patterns and pre-empt the FF EX? Nope, it isn't. As an Elestra though, it is very easy to be caught out of position, the bosses simply move too much, too fast. Your party members will likely get to the boss before you. They will have thrown their debuffs and all prepared to strike. At this time, should you debuff or just ice stack? You decide ^^

Solo as an Elestra is just painful, so I won't debate on potential application of keeping up a -30% ice resist. My perspective is that raid wise -

Shield +DMG Reduction is as good as a must
Blizzard - CD is the next most beneficial plate

This leaves 2 plates for potential damage skills. Ice Stab EX should be a staple (for me anyway). I am loathe to commit the last plate for Chilling Mist EX - the DPS is nothing outstanding, the only real benefit is that it is an upgrade (and is quite pretty...)

I feel that Ice Stab EX Level 16 plated is still our top DPS choice regarding ice side skills, no real reason to forego the consistent damage output from it. FF EX to 17 is indeed wasteful, but comparing the SP wasted on double shields, not so significant DPS on CM EX, and most importantly the stability for ice stacking purposes, it isn't that bad.

The following will just be more sharing based on DDN experience as an Elestra -
Glacial Spike should be spammed. Please watch the video at the end, this is SOLO, WITHOUT INTELLECT weapons. Ice does not break immediately, there is no need to exaggerate.

FF EX should be used for Ice Stacking over debuffing, reasoning above. Yes, you can coordinate with the team to wait for your FF EX debuff... and maybe lose an entire DPS window altogether. (they can be really short) It is their job to DPS, it is YOUR JOB to up 2 ice layers when their DPS skills hit. Nobody cares about left click attacks enjoying an extra 2s of ice. (An exaggeration, but I think people will get the point)

Frost Wind -> Glacial Freeze --> Ice Sphere --> (after 4-5s FF EX) is a very useful combination in DDN for maintaining ice layers for extended burst. (In the absence of Blizzard / Blizzard opportunities)

Please, Blizzard +DMG is pointless, nobody is depending on Elestra to deal DPS. Blizzard -CD = more chances to maintain 2 layers of ice stack. I have no idea how to describe this, but the difference between having the plate and not can be felt easily in DDN. Often times, I found my Blizzard cooling down just in time for a DPS window. (Feel free to ignore in tuhao teams who can 1 wave push...)

If you use Blizzard at the wrong moment (and it's going to put you into danger), you can cancel Blizzard by going to the menu and choosing 脱离异常坐标 (Escape current location?)

Ice Stacking works when breaking Sandworm SA

"Secret Trick" - I have never seen this mentioned ever by an Elestra here, but Ignite is a godly skill in DDN. I have not explored every instance of potential usage, but please take note that Ignite has SIMILAR PROPERTIES to Detonate (I don't think it is at Detonate's level), but it has a "delaying" effect on some skills / renders them ineffective. Take note that I didn't dare to experiment too much, since I usually ran with a Detonating Priest, but I can verify these:

- Scorpion Poison Spin EX can be delayed (maybe even cancelled at right timing, I didn't run enough times to test)
- After Sandworm Stomp  (Will lengthen DPS/SA Breaking timing for a little longer)
- At the Dragon, you can DELAY the timing for pressing Eye of Life

It's been some time since I ran as an Elestra, so this might have been fixed. Since Detonate hasn't, I highly doubt that Ignite has. I should find a chance to test for Poison Wall some day. Please take note that unlike the "old" Shatter, it doesn't cancel the skill.

I will end with a short clip on soloing Flower as Elestra (recorded to demonstrate the low DPS of Elestra despite gearing fully for DPS)

Stats (Click the images below for larger size):

37.58% Fire/Ice, 29.2k Critical, 1251 FD (42%), 19.1k MDMG
